PRAYER OF A STUDENT TEACHER/ CREDO/PERSONAL EDUCATION PHILOSOPHY
PRAYER
OF A STUDENT TEACHER
Dear
Lord,
Lord, as I begin our day I pray that you would fill
us with your holy spirit. Thank you for all the love, blessings and unique
gifts you give to us. Thank you for providing us all we need, for forgiving us
from our sins and for showing us our worthiness. Thank you for guiding our family
and protecting us from danger and evil.
Give me wisdom and strength to teach my students and
do my job well. Give me courage to teach them with love and patience and grace
to cover my imperfections because I believe that this is what you call me to
do. I am not perfect but I pray that may I teach them the things they need to
know.
Lord, please bless my students with wisdom,
understanding, and a heart that is excited to learn. All I want is to help them
shape their minds and future. Please, help me to encourage the students to
learn and help those who cannot cope
with our lesson. Stand beside me through each day, as I teach and guide my
students and help me as a teacher to find their light and way.
And so I ask for your guidance, Lord that may I do
my part, for characters and confidence
And happiness of heart
Amen.
CREDO
I believe that I can be a good example of teacher to
my students.
I believe that every student have unique skills, talents
and different ways of learning.
I believe that a teacher must have serenity to
accept and appreciate each student and love all the imperfections of the
students.
I believe that a teacher must have caring heart,
patience, understanding and always praise the works of each student.
I
believe that all children have an opportunity to learn and have the right to
quality education.
I believe that a teacher must teach his/her students
with values and encourage them to have a heart to learn.
I believe that education is the passport to the
future and the key for success.
I believe that it is more important that we educate
not only the mind but their hearts.
PERSONAL EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
Education is the key to
success in life. Many say that it is only the treasure that our parent can give
us. It is our passport and the key to unlock the golden door of future. It is a
weapon that can transform our life and have a good life. For me, it is a gift
that no one can get it from me.
In reality, teachers
nowadays teach because of income however, we should teach not for income but to
teach with passion and a heart. We should inspire and motivate our students to
learn and realizes that life is beautiful. We should educate them how to think,
but never forget to educate their character and heart. As I’ve read in the
readings of Aristotle that educating their minds without educating the heart is
no education at all. Values and good character is the most important you can
teach your students. You must know how to respect your students and other
people in able for them to respect you. Educate them the word “respect” and
being “honest”. As a teacher, educating students is non-sense if they have only
intelligence. They must have character, which is our aim. We can be their
friend, mother, sister and the one who can talk to, building harmonious
relationship as a teacher and as a student is important and in order to have learning.
Teaching must begin with motivation and inspiration. Teachers must express
self-confidence and enthusiasm to his/her students. Teachers must guide and
facilitate the students. Teachers must do their best and exert effort to have
quality education for them. Regardless of differences, they have the right to
learn. We must use different strategies and approaches to establish an active
learning. We must make every subject relevant to their real life situations. We
must give them something to do and yet to learn. It will enhance not only their
critical thinking skills, but on how to construct with their own learning and
understanding. It must be student centered but they must be guided and facilitated.
We must help them to discover their strengths and weaknesses. We must teach and
treat them fairly.
Children’s nowadays is different compared before;
they all need deep patience, support and understanding. Never stop educating
them and inspiring them. We must prepare ourselves in teaching in 21st
century, which is a challenge for future teachers.

A Brief History of Sta. Peregrina High School
Building
a high school in Balatong B., Pulilan, Bulacan was conceptualized last April
1989. This project was carefully planned by Hon. Mayor Aurelio S. Plamenco, with full cooperation of six
Barangay Chairman of the neighboring barangays. They surveyed and gathered the
names of hundreds of elementary graduates who belong to indigenous families
whose parents had a meager income to send their children in private secondary
schools.
The
six (6) Barangay Captains who initiated the actions were:
Reynaldo
Reyes of Brgy. Tinejero
Antonio
Telles of Brgy. Balatong A.
Maximo
San Pedro of Brgy. Balatong B.
Dionisio
Joson of Brgy. Peรฑabatan
George
Santos of Brgy. Sta. Peregrina
Pablo
de Guzman of Brgy. Inaon
Sta. Peregrina High School was built to answer the growing needs of the people from
the remote barangays that could accommodate its hundreds of Grade VI pupils from
the three public elementary schools: Inaon Elementary School, Sta. Peregrina
Elementary School and Balatong Elementary School. Linkage between Local
Government headed by Pulilan Mayor Aurelio S. Plamenco and the Barangay
Chairman was strengthened by their determination to put dreams into reality.
They pass multitudes of blockades in order to have a public high school in the
barrio.
In
the year 1989 to 1992 SPHS had problems in location since Barangay Balatong B.
was strategically located at the center of the six barangays, it was agreed
upon to have it been built in Balatong B. however, no budget had been granted
or solicited, so temporarily it was hosed within the compound of Sta. Peregrina
Elementary School and allotted two classrooms. Nevertheless, the 2nd
to 3rd batch had much difficulty due to lack no facilities.
They
experience rendering classes under the mango trees. They also held classes in
the Brgy. Hall and Health Center.
1993
was the most blessed year for SPHS because this was the year of exodus. Parents
of Batch 1989-1993 agreed to contribute ₱100 each to be able to purchase a lot.
However, the owner of the lot died and just donated the lot for the betterment
of the community.
With
the consolidated effort of the six barangays and the municipal Mayor they asked
assistance from DECS Division of Bulacan which was headed by then
Superintendent Bienvenido F. Yap. He determined the suitability hygienic
condition of the school, and also he recommended the acquisition of proper
school site. The cost construction of the building and the special funds from
Japan JICA and the approval of the DECS were miraculously activated at that
time. And the birth of SPHS building with one office, one laboratory, one TLE
room, one Library, and four classrooms with a grandeur of 10,00 sq. meter
ground and probably the most convenient school building in Pulilan, Bulacan.
From
1989-2000, Mrs. Ederlinda P. dela Cruz, acted as the principal, she served for
almost 11 years. However, on July 3, 2000 the Department of Education has
called Mr. Roberto A. Toledo to assume the position of the Officer-in-Charge.
He indeed exercises visionary leadership and highly responsive to the emerging
needs of Sta. Peregrina High School. He was followed by Mr. Efren Santiago,
Mrs. Cynthia C. Centeno and Mrs. Teresa P. Garcia. At present, SPHS is managed
by Mr. Roberto A. Cristobal as principal.
Sta.
Peregrina High School has grown tremendously. Its former annex Engr. Virgilio
V. Dionisio Memorial High School is now operating on its own. This school was
conceptualized and supported by Hon. Vice Governor Josie dela Cruz and Brgy.
Captain Baby Evangelista. Presently, Bajet-Castillo High School located at
Longs, Pulilan is SPHS’s new annex.
REFLECTION:
Sta. Peregrina High School is located at Balatong B., Pulilan, Bulacan. In our time, it was managed by Mrs. Cynthia C. Centeno. This is the school where I graduated high school. It is near our house so no hassle. The schedule of the school is shifting because of lack of classrooms. But now, there is new building but still working on it. School facilities and environment is conducive to learning of students. I'm glad that this is the school I chose, we are very welcome and accepted. I have no adjustments because most of the teachers here are my former teachers when I am in high school before. For me, this school is really an inspiration and a big help for the students in fulfilling their dreams in life..

7. EXAMPLES OF LESSON PLANS USED
(DETAILED/SEMI-DETAILED/BRIEF)
REFLECTION:
A teacher’s weapon is
his/her lesson plan. You cannot teach without preparing and writing a lesson plan.
It help us developed
our self-confidence. It inspires us to improve our further lessons and it
provides guidance for teachers what to teach. It is useful to us to have an
organized classroom setting. It helps us to be cleared of objectives needed to
be achieved. When there is no lesson plan, teaching becomes more difficult. So,
it is really required that you have time to write the lesson plan. It will be our guide to use our time effectively and efficiently. As a teacher, using lesson plan we always indicate what to be covered and for how long. Everything is managed and planned. It helps us to prepare all the materials needed for the lesson. Availability of instructional materials is important. It gives us ideas on what a teacher should expect from the students. It will prevent lack of preparedness for a lesson, instead, students will be guided and motivated.
Creating effective lesson plan is the key to effective teaching. We should know and practice the proper planning of lessons, mastered the subject matter and execution of proper mode of delivery in classroom.
Below are the examples of lesson plan I used in the field of my Practice Teaching. My cooperating teacher want semi-detailed lesson plan than detailed lesson plan.

8. EVIDENCE OF COMMUNITY OUTREACH
REFLECTION:
“Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on Earth.” – Muhammad Ali
A community
service was held at Brgy. Tinejero, Pulilan, Bulacan last September 15, 2017.
Araling Panlipunan, Science, TLE and Mathematics departments prepared a
community outreach to help and serve joy to children and other people in
barangay. Together with the co-student teachers, teachers of the school and
officials of barangay, we successfully did the feeding program. To complete the
service, we lead and prepared games for childrens. Their smile will be not
complete if there is no prizes.
Community service wasn’t a painful or
boring experience; it was very enjoyable and beneficial experience. It is a
great feeling that you reserve your time to be with the people you didn’t know.
I just remembered the saying of Mother Theresa that if you can’t feed a hundred
people, then just feed one. Inspired of her, we must give our hands to serve
and our hearts to love. I thank God for a wonderful experience that I volunteer
to lend my hand for others. We have two hands, one is to help ourselves and the
other to help other people. Community service builds harmonious relationships
with others and friendship. I am happy that once in my life I have served other
people even in a simple way and participate in this kind of community service.
Happiness is to serve joy to others,
when you see them smiling that is so priceless. It is not always the time you
need in service but a heart. We must share our blessings and all that we have,
the more we share, the more we have. That is when you share happiness to other
people.
9. OBSERVATION AND EVALUATION FORMS
REFLECTION:
This
is only the observation and evaluation form I have. My cooperating teacher
observed me before my final demonstration teaching. This is a big help for me
because I see what I need to improve in my performance. His feedbacks are
useful for me to enhance my teaching skills. Teaching us to learn from our
mistakes, and make a change of it. Just accept weaknesses and have room for
improvement.
10. BEST LESSON PLAN USING CREATIVE
STRATEGY WITH THE COMPLETE SET OF MATERIALS
REFLECTION:
Lesson plan is very important for teachers and learners. It is a road map
which serves as a clear procedure to follow. It makes you feel confident what
and how to teach the lesson. It is
important that you guided your students. It is one way to make teaching
organized and manage the time well. It helps teachers for mastery of the
subject and avoiding repetition. It helps teachers to relate the previous
lesson to a new one. It is also one way to make the delivery of lesson smooth
and cleared. This serves as guide for teacher’s execution and delivery of the
lesson. Instructional materials are also
used as a support and teachers needed those to make teaching and learning of
the students meaningful. We should be a great writer and planner of our lesson.
Below is the detailed lesson plan I used in my final demonstration teaching last November 6, 2017. For me, this is the best lesson plan I used where I exert all my efforts.

11. SAMPLE OF LEARNERS WORK AND
FEEDBACK
LEARNER'S WORK:
REFLECTION:
A teacher must have serenity to
accept each student and appreciate their unique skills and talents. We must
accept their imperfections and must always praise their works. Every student
can learn but always remember not on the same way. Being a teacher, you have to
be patient, I encounter that not all student do their activities, homework and
projects. However, don’t judge them; you must know the reason behind that
situation. Not all student have the same skills, some are good in academic
while some are good in art. Don’t compare their works, learn to praise their
works. As a teacher, you must guide and teach them when they cannot cope with
the activities you give to them. As a future teacher, we must encourage them to
do hardwork.
Using learner’s output is very useful;
it will be one of the basis of their
performance and understanding. But what I have observed the students are better
able to tailor their efforts to produce a product than satisfies the
expectations of the teacher. As a teacher, we should be careful in judging
works of students. The feedback should focus on the product or performance and
not on the person. It is one way to say on how to improve his/her performance.
We should teach our children, “Learning
by doing” according to John Dewey. It is better if more on application and
hands on. For them to be able to construct their own understanding and
learning.

LEARNER'S FEEDBACK:
REFLECTION:
According
to Bill Gates, “We all need people who will give us feedback. That’s how we
improve.” As we get more feedback, either positive or negative, that’s the way
for us to be motivated and improve.
As I read all the feedback of my
students, I felt mixed emotions. I can’t explain what I feel that time. I
realized that even this profession is difficult for me, my student made me feel
that I AM A TEACHER. I know I am not a perfect teacher, but I really
appreciated their love for me. The way they say that I’m worthwhile, that I
deserve to be successful, that they learn from me, that they will miss me so
much really breaks my heart. Happiness is knowing that your students learn from
you. I have many realizations when I am in the field of practice teaching. At
first, I don’t really want to be a teacher but my students really inspired me
to continue this chosen profession. I love the way they treat me, I love the
way we build friendships. I
love the way they treated me as their teacher, friend, sister and their second
parent. I am thankful that they really appreciated my efforts
just to teach them.
It is the best feeling I have
received from my students, I thought they wouldn’t like me. But I get wrong;
they want me to stay there. It is good to hear that I have inspired them and
made them realize that the subject, “Araling Panlipunan” is not boring. It is
very interesting and full of excitement to teach. Because of them, I really
enjoy the field even though there are difficulties, I survive it!

According to William A. Ward, the mediocre teacher tells, the good teacher explains, the superior teacher demonstrates but a great teacher inspires. Teachers must love teaching in able her students to love learning. A great teacher teaches from his/her heart and not only depending on what is written in a book. Teaching is not easy profession; some says teachers teach because of their income, however, great teachers do have real passion to teaching and a heart for learning. Great teacher must show kindness, love and care to students, parents and those who are around him. Teach our students how to respect people and good attitude. Great teachers accept individual’s differences and know how to put herself on the shoes of other person.
ii. Summary/Discussion
Great teachers give more importance to attitude to students, work and subject than knowledge and skills. Great teachers work hard and tirelessly to give students a quality education and nurturing them to grow. Great teachers are passionate people, they love their job/work, they really enjoy as a teacher and they really love teaching his/her students. But what does a great teacher is?
· Great teachers have high expectations, he/she believes that all students can learn and to work hard even they have different skills and abilities.
· Great teachers have mastered the subject matter, the knowledge about the content of what to teach and must know different strategies and approaches to make teaching effective and efficient.
· Great teacher work hard and exert his/her full effort just to teach students.
· Great teachers must know how to build good relationship with the students, parents and other people.
· Great teacher must show kindness, love and care to his/her students. Give them care like a loving parent, sister or a friend. Give them support and believe in their own capacity to learn things.
· Great teacher knows how to respect people, and teach their students the word “respect”, “values”, and “honesty”.
· Great teachers are empathetic. Great teacher put herself on the shoes of another. They ask and show care on what’s going on the lives of students.
· Great teacher is a happy and approachable person. A great teacher leaves his personal problems in the house and outside the school. She/he doesn’t want to affect his mood of teaching.
· Great teachers is an innovator, doesn’t only focus on a single strategy. He makes new ways, methods, and strategies to ensure that his students will understand the lesson. Creativity and innovation are the hallmarks of being a great teacher.
· Great teachers seeks new ideas and skills that will improve his performance to provide students a quality education, also doesn’t afraid of learning new strategies.

This article enlightened As I read this article, one word comes to my mind, the word “builder”, because we build relationship, friendship and a community. This article enlightened me what a great teacher is. We should build good relationship to our students; it is a key for their willingness to learn. We should help students having difficulties, guide and facilitate them. We should be compassionate- show concern and understand people. We should be optimistic person; we should look always on the bright side. Don’t let our problems affect the mood of our teaching, those problems should be left outside of the school doors. Empathy is also one of the characteristics of being a great teacher; you put yourself in the shoes of another. Thinking how if you are the one who experience that situation, what will happen? It has a big impact on your actions and decisions. Great teacher is fearless of innovations, very brave to face and try new strategies and approaches that will help to improve and enhance skills, knowledge and teaching. We must respect people in able for them to respect us, as I’ve said earlier to show professionalism. In reality, teachers teach because of money or income, but we must not forget that we must do our best to provide our children a quality education that they need. We must plan what to teach, must have mastery of the subject matter, think of suitable methods of teaching. We must love our job, and it must show.
Learning of students must begin with inspiration and motivation. Great teachers must inspire his students to learn and work hard. Educators must have whole passion for teaching and learning. We must demonstrate enthusiasm and self-confidence. Display warmth and compassion to students, that’s the way they feel loved. Students are having differences, fairness and consistency is important. Great teachers encourage students to work hard and helping children in fulfilling their dreams in life.

13. DAILY SUMMARY OF
EXPERIENCES IN THE COOPERATING SCHOOL
Experience is the best teacher. Everyday is a challenge for teachers. Stress and lack of sleep but worth it when you see your students are learning from you. You always have to prepared lesson plans, visual aids or any instructional materials that will support your teaching. Mastery of the subject matter is very needed. But keep on smiling when teaching, don't feel so stress, just enjoy!

|
It
was my first day in cooperating school where I assigned. My cooperating
teacher and I talked about the report of my practice teaching. Then, because
it is my first day, he introduced me to his students. I was sitting at the
back to observe him first.
|
In
celebrating the “National Heroes Day”, he asked the students to choose one
hero they admire. A picture of a hero is pasted in a cardboard together with
its contribution and explanation why they really admire his/her.
|
With
this activity, the students will have knowledge regarding the event and
heroes who sacrificed their lives. It will develop their minds and
creativity.

I
came early to cooperating school. In two sections, my cooperating teacher is
the one who teach them. Then, the left sections I am the one who discussed
the topic. Also, I was assigned to check the activities of Grade 7.
|
The
strategy used is through group activity. Each group will analyze data of
population of the countries in Asia regards with the different task card
assigned to them. Their analysis of data can be shown through graphs and
charts. Cooperative Learning is also used in this activity because they work
together and help each other to finish the said activity.
|
It
is good that I used cooperative learning. It is an excellent way to allow my
students to think critically and they learn from each other. It is not only
their learning skills are developed but also their social skills.
|

|
I
also came early to cooperating school. I continued the report of students
about analysis of data of populations of the countries in Asia.
|
The
strategy used is cooperative learning where they have a group activity in
which they will analyze data and show it through graphs and chart. I prepared
and asked questions to deepen their understanding.
|
Team
skills is develop to the students. They enjoyed working for each other.
Through group activity, they can work easily together.

I
logged at 6 o’clock in the morning. On this day, I gave pre-test to
students. I discussed them about kabihasnan and sibilisasyon through speech
balloon and cluster map. My cooperating teacher asked me to help him to finish
the item analysis of periodical test of seven section of grade 7.
|
The
strategy used is through graphic organizer, it is a learning tool that will
help students to better understand the topic. It will help students to
organize their different ideas to answers given questions. Constructive
learning was also used here. They learn to construct their own understanding
about “kabihasnan” and “sibilisayon.”
|
In
using cluster map, the students will be able to express their own
thoughts and ideas about the topic and will able to construct
ideas on their own.

|
The
activity for today is named, “Larawan-suri”. The students will analyze
pictures related to the topic “Yugto ng Panahon”. I gave them activity
which is photo essay. Then, after my class, I continued the item
analysis of the left sections.
|
I
used interactive teaching strategy in which there is an interaction of
student with the teacher. I asked questions to test if the students follow
and understand the lesson. Ask questions which can be relate to their real
life situations.
|
I
learn that teaching should be always student centered in able the students to
develop their critical thinking and engage them in analytic discussion.
Pictures makes student more active.

The
students will watch video related to “Sinaunang Kabihasnan sa Asya”.
|
I
used interactive video where I ensure my students are actively involved in the
discussion. Through the help of video, students will have advanced knowledge
of what will be tackled.
|
Students
nowadays are more willing to watch videos from social media. As a future
teacher, we must encourage them to watch educational videos to enhance their
knowledge.
|
September

|
On
this day, there is only continuation of the discussion to other sections.
They watched video related with the topic.
|
I
also used interactive video, where they are enjoying watching and I make sure
they will actively participate and understand the lesson.
|
Another
insight is we must mix our strategy with using technology but in a very
positive way.

Activities
are data information chart about “Kabihasnang Sumer, Indus, Shang at mga
Mahahalagang Kontribusyon nito.” Today, we have a game which is Pinoy Henyo
in which the categories are religion, tradition, philosophy and beliefs. It
is for the discussion of the next topic. Another activity is entitled, “A
Letter to a Principal.”Then, during my break time I helped my cooperating
school to review his contestant for the ASEAN Quiz Bee.
|
Chart
is used as an activity in able for the student to seek for answers and not
always relying on the teacher. Then, a game was also used so students will
not remain passive but they are actively participating in the class
discussion. A reflection to reflect about the lesson, what their thought,
feelings and opinions. There is integration between the teacher and students.
They are able to construct their own understanding and meanings.
|
Students
are very active when you combine your teaching with games. They are more
actively involved when educational games are used. Sometimes, it is good if
you’ll give them time to reflect about the lesson. You have to let them
express their own thoughts and opinions.

15. A PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN
OR CAREER PLAN
I believe that as long you
do everything with faith and passion, together with hardwork, you can get
anything you want here on earth. I never thought I would be a teacher in the
future. I admit that I never dream this profession, but when I am in the field
of practice teaching, my students inspired me to continue this chosen career.
Yes, it is difficult, stress, lack of sleep and sickness you will get on it.
But I really believe that God made this way to say that it is what He calls me
to do. Graduation is near, I’m so blessed and thankful that from those
struggless and challenges I survived with the help of God, family and friends.
Without them, I cannot do it successfully.
My plans after taking this
course, is to have more experiences regardless of teaching. I want to have room
for my improvement and enhancement. I want to apply in a private school or if
there is available I will apply in public high school as a senior high school
teacher. If I am hired as a senior public high school teacher, I have 5 years
to pass the board exam. While working, I will take a review for Licensure
Examination for Teachers. My target review center is Philippine Normal
University. I hope and I wish I could pass the board exam and I’ll do my best to pass it. When I passed the
board exam, I will take Master’s Degree. While working, I will save my money
for future. All I want is to have my family a successful and a happy life. I
want to help my parent in financial. After helping them, I want to enjoy life
with my family. For the last, when life is stable that I can stand on my own
feet, I want to have my own family, having business, establish own property and
to travel with my loveones.
It is not the end, it’s just a
beginning. I thank God for always guiding me and giving me strength to surpass
all the challenges I encountered. I will try my best to be an effective and
efficient teacher in the future. Everyone dreaming of being successful, I just
dream of happiness and being contented is enough.
